October 2025
Stay well informed of our services, events and outreach with our monthly calendar online, by WhatsApp or in print by asking a greeter at our Sunday Worship.
This October we welcome fall with open arms. Take the time to take a stroll through the park and look for the rich colors in display from God's creation. Visit a local orchard, make some apple crisp, spend quality time with friends and family and be thankful. As the Apostle Paul encouraged, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" Philippians 4:4.
October is also National Pastor Appreciation Month, a time set aside to recognize the contributions and service of pastors, priests, reverends, ministers, and all clergy members. October has long been recognized worldwide as Pastor Appreciation Month, or Clergy Appreciation Month. The call to honor our church leaders' contributions can be traced back to the Apostle Paul. In establishing the first Christian Churches, the Apostle Paul advised the congregation to give "double honor" to the elders of the church who managed the affairs of the church well, "especially those whose work is preaching and teaching" (1 Timothy 5:17)
Take the time to honor the man and woman of God in ministry that are devoted to the Kingdom cause.
- Pray for them and their family. Daily prayer for their spiritual protection, wisdom, and encouragement is vital.
- Express verbal appreciation. Simply tell your pastor, "I thank God for you," or "I'm glad you're our pastor," can be very encouraging.
- Write a personal note of thanks. A handwritten note with a message of gratitude can be deeply meaningful.
- Provide practical help. Volunteer to take on tasks for them and their family, such as yard work or helping with household maintenance, to give them a break.
- Give thoughtful gifts. This could include a gift card, gift to a special restaurant or retail store, or a donation to a charity in their name.
- Support the church. Be a faithful church member by studying the Bible, attending services regularly, and serving where needed.
- Set a positive example. By walking in humility and selflessness, you can set a godly example for other church members.
- Speak well of them to others. Bragging on your pastor to friends and other church members is a great way to offer encouragement and support.
- Be a peacemaker. Avoid getting involved in controversies or personality conflicts and help to create a harmonious church environment.
- Ask them what you can do to help. Directly ask your pastor if there are specific ways you can support them, which could reveal immediate needs you can meet.
